The Thame Christmas Lights
Today I took the kids to see my auntie and uncle in Thame. They are both very sweet and always really go to town at christmas with decorating their house. The kids love going there, although to be fair James who is 12 did find it a little boring, methinks as he is at that inbetween age, not really a kid but not really an adult - poor soul - I can remember that stage in my life, kids were boring but so were adults and apart from kids your own age you didn't seem to fit in!
Anyway I reckon my auntie has trebled the Thame electricity supply all on her own with the number of lights and flashing santas and fibre optic things standing and hanging inside and outside her house. As lovely as it looks it must cost her a small fortune to run them all.
So we went for lunch which was really nice and then she brought out enough desserts to feed a small army instead of the few that were there. Mum and another of my aunts who I'd taken had had a couple of glasses of wine and mum nearly fell asleep - bless her she's not used to drinking let alone afternoon drinking!!!
We made our excuses around 4pm and headed off for the M40 to wend our way home!
I then made the really big mistake of going to M & S for a "few bits" and one and a half hours later and £70 lighter in the purse department I finally made my way home!
Oh well, thank goodness christmas is only once a year!!!
