Mrs Henderson Presents
Yesterday Mum popped in to see how I was and asked if I wanted to go to the cinema with her to see Mrs Henderson Presents and that Dad didn't want to go but would babysit for me (hubby being in Estonia at the moment). I did have stuff I wanted to do, but she really wanted to see it so I said yes.
We went to the 8pm performance, why they say 8pm is beyond me because the film never starts then. You have to sit through half an hour of crap local adverts, then the normal cinema ones and finally trailers for up coming films.
Anyway, the film was really good - funny and sad in places and I have to admit I was pleasantly surprised because I thought I would be bored to tears, but Dame Judi Dench was brilliant and Bob Hoskins was fantastic too. One of the good things about it was (and I'm not one for musicals) although it was about a theatre and had lots of songs in it, you didn't feel like you'd watched a musical if that makes any sense, mainly because I don't think we ever got to see a whole song.
I have to say it's probably more of a girlie movie than one for the blokes, but both Mum and I really enjoyed it.
