It's Been A While
So it's been a few days since my last blog, five days in fact, and the main reason being that I've been a poorly girl :-( I've a dose of this flu thing that's going around, luckily not as bad as my poor friend Sam (shopping buddy) who's been laid up in bed with it since last Wednesday and is still not at all well.
On Friday I went to a funeral with my Mum (no one close to us luckily) we went to support the family. In my little car, which I drove from one side of London to the other, was me, my Mum and a bloody huge mirror which took over the whole of the back of the car. Just the sort of thing you'd normally take to a funeral - not! Only my Mum could deliver a mirror to a funeral!
So, and there is a connection to me being unwell here somewhere, the wake was in a pub and I assumed it had been too smoky and that was why I had a really sore throat, sadly it wasn't to be and by Saturday I felt extremely rough. This was not a good thing as I was going out to a golf dinner and dance that night.
I dosed myself up with paracetamol and got ready, we had to be there for 7, it was a complete disaster. The meal was chicken, which I don't eat but I'm not a vegetarian, so another meal had been arranged for me. "are you the vegetarian madam?" "no I just don't eat chicken" "oh we were told you were vegetarian" Now what you have to understand is that I'm not a lover of vegetarian dishes, I'm a 'meat and 2 veg' kind of gal so when I was presented with my dinner which was a pastry thing with mushrooms (which I detest even more than chicken) you'll appreciate that I wasn't a happy bunny. So she took it away and came back with stuffed peppers, another thing I don't eat! In the end I had a plate of vegetables - dry vegetables as they didn't have any gravy they could give me.
So that was my exciting dinner which went down really well with a sore throat. Anyway to cut a long story short we were home and I was tucked up in bed with a hot water bottle by 10pm and have felt pretty rough since, although I am slowly getting better you'll be pleased to hear.
